Level 3 Soil Reports

Our most common service, Level 3 Soil Reports are typically required for permitting any new development that will use a septic system. These reports provide detailed, county-compliant soil evaluations.

Preliminary Soil Studies

Designed for large tracts of land, preliminary studies provide a general understanding of septic suitability. They are a cost-efficient alternative to Level 3 studies but are usually not sufficient to obtain a septic permit in Georgia. 

• Purpose: Assess the land’s potential for septic systems.

• Best For: Early-stage planning or large-scale developments.

Level 4 Soil Reports

Also called high-density soil studies, Level 4 Reports are used when Level 3 evaluations reveal limiting conditions, such as shallow bedrock or high water tables. 

• When Required: These studies are often requested by county environmental health departments in conjunction with alternative septic designs.

• Purpose: Provide a more detailed and accurate depiction of soil conditions for challenging sites.
